1. Who we are
Astralux is a Canadian web design and AI automation studio serving organizations in Canada and the United States. In this policy, “Astralux,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Astralux.
Questions or privacy requests can be sent to support@astralux.ca.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
We may receive information you choose to send when you contact us, request an audit, discuss a project, or otherwise communicate with Astralux. This can include your name, email address, organization, project details, and the contents of your message.
Website and security information
Our hosting and security providers may process standard technical information when you visit the site, such as an IP address, browser and device type, requested pages, timestamps, and diagnostic or security events. We use this information to deliver the site, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot problems.
ASTRA voice assistant
If you choose to use the ASTRA voice assistant and grant microphone permission, your browser captures audio and sends it to Google’s Gemini service to provide a real-time response. The assistant may also produce an on-screen transcript during the session. Astralux does not intentionally record or store the microphone audio or transcript through this website.
Microphone access is optional. You can deny or revoke permission through your browser at any time. The assistant’s token service temporarily processes technical request information, including an IP address, to limit abuse.
3. How we use information
We use personal information only for reasonable business purposes, including to:
- respond to enquiries and communicate about requested services;
- prepare proposals, deliver projects, and provide support;
- operate, secure, maintain, and improve the website and voice assistant;
- detect fraud, misuse, security incidents, or technical problems;
- meet legal, accounting, and regulatory obligations; and
- enforce agreements and protect our rights and the rights of others.
We do not sell personal information.
4. Cookies and analytics
Astralux does not currently use advertising cookies or behavioural advertising technologies on this website. The site may use essential platform technologies required for hosting, security, and reliable delivery.
If we introduce analytics, advertising, or other non-essential tracking in the future, we will update this policy and provide any notice or consent controls required by applicable law.
5. Service providers and international processing
We use service providers to operate the website and communicate with visitors. They may process information on our behalf under their own terms and privacy commitments. Current providers include:
- Netlify, for website hosting, delivery, security, and serverless functions;
- Google, for email services and the Gemini-powered voice assistant; and
- professional, technical, accounting, or legal providers when reasonably necessary.
These providers may process information outside your province, state, or country, including in the United States. Information processed in another jurisdiction may be subject to that jurisdiction’s laws.
6. When information may be disclosed
We may disclose information to service providers that support our operations, when you direct or authorize us to do so, as part of a business transaction, or when disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful process, investigate abuse, or protect rights and safety.
7. Retention and security
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, to complete a business relationship, or to meet legal and accounting requirements. Retention periods vary according to the type of information and why it was collected.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
8. Your privacy choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to or correction of your personal information, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, or ask about how information has been used or disclosed. Some rights are subject to legal exceptions.
You may also:
- decline or revoke microphone permission through your browser;
- choose not to use the voice assistant;
- ask us to stop non-essential communications; or
- contact us with a privacy concern or request.
We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.
9. Children’s privacy
This website and our services are intended for businesses and adults. They are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the website.
10. External links
The website may link to third-party websites or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and Astralux is not responsible for third-party content or practices.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to our services, providers, or legal obligations. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated through an additional notice where appropriate.
